the origin of micro bikini

Just to show how far the mermaid has come in 100 years. From the flannel woollen coverall suits of 1877, to the bare essentials of a century later as seen by Nelbarden, Claude Mougin USA and Heinzelmann of Germany.

The word "Micro Bikini" dates back to July 1946 when French model Michelin Bernadino wore a brazilian bikini at a fashion show, with a monokini held at the Piscine Molitor in Paris.

This was also the month that the first announced atomic bomb was exploded in the lagoon of a Pacific coral reef called Bikini atoll. Public feeling ran high and "end of the world" meetings were held all over Europe, but especially in France.

These were followed by "anything goes" parties among the smart set. Piscine Molitor's publicity advisers saw the opportunity to adapt this permissive theme to the new brief tankini swimsuits and thus "micro bikini" was born
